This is where you find out about Leela’s published fiction, and some recent reviews of her work, in particular the short stories. For more information see the website attfieldduttbooks.co.uk Steering a Safe Passage Philosophy and Fiction
Recent books such as FRESH BEGINNIGS which is short stories, and the novel A DISTANT VOICE IN THE DARKNESS, are available from Amazon and other online outlets, but if you don’t like ordering online, Waterstones will order the novel in paperback for you, or you can ask Leela by emailing info@attfieldduttbooks.co.uk. There’s a free kindle edition of FRESH BEGINNINGS if you have Kindle Unlimited Membership, or Amazon has it as a paperback at the moment for £2.80. Waterstones, Foyles, the Bridgetown Cafe Bookshop and other outlets also sell it. There’s also a kindle edition of the novel A DISTANT VOICE IN THE DARKNESS or you can buy a paperback copy for £8.99.
If you enjoyed the short stories in FRESH BEGINNINGS, you might like an earlier collection from 1996 called KINGFISHER BLUE. Last time we looked, Amazon had it for £25 (yes really…) but Leela will post it to you for £5 including postage, or less if money is tight. Just ask by emailing info@attfieldduttbooks.co.uk
Another earlier book you might like is the novel MATHISON which also came out in 1996 and is offered on Amazon for £25 – but you don’t need to pay that! It’s a novel about AI – yes we did have AI in 1996; it’s told by a computer program addressed to a baby born in 2000, and tells the story of the baby’s ancestors throughout the 20th century. One strand begins with a baby born in Kolkata in 1900, and the other strand concerns a Quaker refugee from Nazi Germany. Again, if you’d like a copy, just ask Leela; she can post it to you for £5. info@attfieldduttbooks.co.uk
There are still a few copies available of Leela Dutt’s novel RUBIK’S CUBE which was shortlisted in 1984 by the Welsh Arts Council. It’s about a Quaker Meeting in Wales, a peace camp around a base where nuclear weapons are stored, neighbours who persecute children, hereditary blindness…and the absurd way things get tangled up. If you are interested, email info@attfieldduttbooks.co.ukand to buy it for £5 while stocks last. For more information see attfieldduttbooks.co.uk Steering a Safe Passage – Philosophy and Fiction
